Are you looking for an exciting opportunity that offers room to grow?If yes, then apply today for the position of Crane Maintenance Technician at Electric Boat where we will assist in building the most advanced and sophisticated submarines in the world!What We Offer:Medical, Dental, Vision401K plan with up to 6% employer matchPaid Vacation and HolidaysShift PremiumHealth and Wellness ProgramsCommuter/Van Services/RiptaTuition Reimbursement ProgramsSafety Boot Reimbursement ProgramGrowth OpportunitiesResponsibilities of the Crane Technician include, but are not limited to, the following:Performing both mechanical and electrical/electronic inspection and repairs on cranes and various weight handling equipment assetsPerforming routine maintenance and inspection and diagnosing and repair of both mechanical and electrical deficiencies associated with crane assetsMaintaining and troubleshooting load bearing/controlling components on weight bearing handling equipmentThis position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.QualificationsRequired:High School Diploma or GED or 2 years of related technical experience2+ years of experience in a mechanic or electrical field or fabrication experienceExperience in analog and digital AC and DC drive controllers, motors, generators, alternators, resister banks, oil and vibration analyses equipment, etc.Must be able to work all shifts, overtime, weekends, at heights, confined spaces and extreme temperature conditions as requiredMust be willing to learn the proper use of various measuring instruments such as torque wrenches, dial calipers, thread and feeler gauges or other precision measuring devicesPossess a valid driver's licenseIndividuals are required to possess their own basic hand toolsPreferred:Knowledge of solid state circuitry components and programmable logic controlling is preferredelectrical license is preferredBasic knowledge and background relative to weight handling equipment inspection, diagnostics and repair, electrical/electronics and systems, motor circuits and motor controllers inclusive of motor brake theory and operation, VF drives, etc. is preferredBasic mechanical skills to perform routine maintenance involving these types of systems as well as structural members, internal gearing and drive train types and applications of fasteners and mechanical joints is preferredUse of electrical meters (analog and digital) PLC's, motor circuit analysis or other related basic electrical/electronic troubleshooting instrumentation is desirable.Military/Navy experience preferredAdditional preference given for Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programsSkillsMust possess strong computer skills (MS Office suite), communication and interpersonal skillsApplicant will be required to work in a collaborative and team environment and meet organizational goalsMust be attentive to detailPhysical QualificationsClimbing, Color Vision, Crawling, Kneeling, Light Lifting, Medium Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Stooping, TwistingEnvironmental AttributesAcids or Alkalis, Cold, Dry, Dusty, Fumes, Hot, Inside, Noise, Oily, Outside, Wet
