DescriptionProduct Engineering lead for Interior Trim programs in Interiors - primary focus door panelsSupport business pursuit activities through tool kick off with technical input and presentations: includes review of SOR's, SSTS, creating EBoM and technical feasibilityOwner of technical definition of product. Responsible for the achievement of the product requirements: define the key process parameters and work with cross functional team to ensure the manufacturing process is documented to enable meeting program metrics: First Time Quality and Operational Equipment EfficiencyDuring design phase create and manage design open issue list by part to promote closure of build and/or manufacturability concernsHelp Customer with up-front packaging development and typical section criteriaMentor and coach other team membersAttend all internal Design and Gate Reviews for Door programs and provide "Technical Guidance" as neededWork effectively in a team environment with a cross-functional team: design, tooling, CAE, quality, manufacturing, finance, purchasing, salesCreate initial product design conceptsSupport Internal PDT meetings and "design issue resolution" utilizing engineering toolsEstablish effective communications (written and verbal) between customers, internal groups and suppliersProvide input to the component and system datum / attachment schemes and GD&T (Dimensional) planComply with all Inteva policies and procedures (IATF16949, etc)Generate and implement cost savings ideasGenerate "Request for Quotes and Statement of Requirements" for purchased partsIssue Change Requests and Design Requests as neededReview designs for "Manufacturability" (Draft angles, part break-up, etc.)Participate in internal and external build events and meetings; drive product &/or process improvementsDocument Lessons LearnedParticipate in warranty improvement activitiesPosition RequirementsREQUIREDMinimum 5 years of automotive door trim product engineering experienceEnergetic personality / high passion for successExcellent organization and planning skillsCreative problem solving skills & self-starting: Work effectively with others, high results orientationKnowledge of injection molding, thermoforming, olefin materials, cut/sew/wrapBasic CAD skills: NX &/or CatiaAbility to travel domestically and internationallyAbility to manage, coordinate and deliver multiple complex tasksMicrosoft Office proficiency: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, ProjectBachelor of Science in EngineeringPREFERREDMultiple functional automotive Interior experiences (Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Tooling)Multiple Interior partition experience (Instrument Panel, Floor Console, Overhead Console, Garnish)Masters in EngineeringEducation RequirementB.S.
