Job Purpose Patient Care Coordinators ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the clinic and support the work of management and other staff. This is a medical setting so individuals with medical background are strongly encouraged to apply. Primary Duties and Responsibilities This job involves a great deal of multi-tasking. Any individual that is not comfortable moving quickly and efficiently should NOT apply. The ideal candidate will be well groomed and well spoken. This individual will be positioned at the front desk and near the cash register to ring up clients, will greet clients as they enter the clinic and can keep an eye on stocking all rooms as well as be a ‘floating medical assistant’ should the sales volume be slow at any given time. Other responsibilities include: Keep front desk tidy and presentable with all necessary materials Schedule patients for appointments and follow-ups Answer questions and address complaints Answer all incoming calls and redirect them or keep messages Receive letters, packages etc. and distribute them Check, sort, and forward emails Monitor office supplies and place orders when necessary Keep updated records and files Take up other duties as assigned At times, with proper training, this individual will also act as an assistant to the medical provider (RN, PA, MD/DO) in the back office. Duties include setting up for IV administration and cosmetic medical procedures, cleaning rooms after patients visits, taking patient vitals and measurements, and any other tasks the provider may assign. Qualifications: Education Certified Medical Assistants are a PLUS High School Diploma Post-secondary education in health management, business, or other health-related career is preferred Knowledge, skills and abilities: Proficiency in the use of computer programs for: ** Medical EHR Systems Word processing Databases Spreadsheets E-mail Internet Proficiency in the use of office equipment: Computer *Medical Terminology and experience in a medical office or medical spa is preferred. Plan: Determine strategies to move the organization forward, set goals, create and implement actions plans, and evaluate the process and results. Solve Problems: Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem. Experience 1-3 years experience in a medical office setting preferred Passionate students interested in a health career will also be reviewed Working Conditions Patient Care Coordinators work in and outside the office environment. Patient Care Coordinators usually work 35-40 hours weekly Pay $18-$20/hour based on experience PLUS TIPS. Patient Care Coordinators may be required to work some off-site hours such as attending social and marketing events.
