Pipe Fabrication Estimator

Xcel Fabrication is a family owned and operated pipe fabricator with offices in West Jordan, Utah, and Idaho Falls, ID. we’re looking for a Pipe Fabrication Estimator to join our team in Utah. You will be the expert responsible for getting our pricing right. We are looking for an Estimator, not a salesperson—your job is to provide costs, not to chase leads. This position is vital and requires you to work in-person with our team. What You'll Be Doing (The Nuts and Bolts) Accurate Pricing: You will be responsible for competitive, reliable pricing. This means performing detailed material take-offs and calculating labor and shop time for our custom fabrication projects. Our Specialty: Your primary focus will be on estimating large and small-scale projects, specifically those involved in municipal piping infrastructure. The Go-To Expert: You'll be reading complex blueprints, P&IDs, and specifications to truly understand the scope, ensuring no detail is missed. Customer Communication: You'll be responsible for packaging up your calculations and providing clear, solid pricing to our valued customers for their upcoming bids. Teamwork: You’ll work closely with the Owner and other member of the team, to talk through project logistics and ensure our estimates are feasible in the shop. What We Need From You (Competency Requirements) Experience: You must be competent in the role, with a foundation of 3–5 years of dedicated experience estimating projects within the industrial piping, fabrication, or water/wastewater treatment industry. Knowledge: A strong, practical understanding of pipe materials, fabrication standards, welding processes, and how a fabrication shop operates. Commitment: The ability to work reliably and in-person at our shop in West Jordan, Utah. Personality: Someone who is highly detailed, organized, and takes personal ownership of their work. Compensation & Growth Salary: $60,000 per year.
