How effectively we use data and technology directly impacts how quickly people get home.The RoleThe Tenant Coordination Specialist plays a key role in supporting households through the housing process, from voucher acquisition to lease-up. Reporting to the Tenant Coordination Supervisor, the Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for participants, working closely with government agencies, nonprofits, brokers, landlords, and the internal team.This role requires deep expertise in NYC housing subsidies and processes, and a commitment to participant advocacy at every stage. The ideal candidate is a bilingual communicator (Spanish and English required) who thrives in a fast-moving environment, can navigate complex cross-agency relationships, and brings a trauma-informed, solutions-oriented approach to their work.Key ResponsibilitiesParticipant & Landlord SupportAssist participants and property providers with navigating the housing process, including vouchers, payments, and other housing needsServe as the primary liaison between participants and property owners throughout the housing search and lease-upFacilitate communication between participants and property providers to ensure a smooth apartment application processRespond to housing and participant emergencies, both during and after regular business hoursViewing & Lease CoordinationCoordinate unit viewings, participant applications, and lease paperworkConsistently communicate with the TC team and supervisor regarding viewing logistics, outcomes, and challenges· Collaborate with the Housing Acquisitions and Operations teams to support housing placementsTeam Collaboration & Other DutiesPartner with internal teams to support participant move-ins and ongoing housing stabilityMaintain accurate and timely case notes and documentation in organizational systemsOther duties as assigned by supervisorQualificationsBachelor's degree in a relevant field, or at least 2 years of experience in housing or human servicesBilingual in Spanish and English requiredFamiliarity with NYC's housing market and voucher systemsStrong interpersonal skills, with a passion for working with diverse communitiesExcellent negotiation and organizational skillsWillingness to travel frequently within the five boroughs, with reasonable accommodation if necessaryProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointRequired Skills & AttributesExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to relay information and complete tasks in real timeComfort navigating cross-agency and cross-sector relationships (government, nonprofits, brokers, landlords)Ability to de-escalate and support participants through stressful housing situationsStrong attention to detail and follow-through in a high-volume, fast-paced environmentAdaptable and comfortable with change, including shifting priorities, evolving processes, and a growing organizationCommitment to housing stability and equitable outcomes for all participantsCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary: $65,000 – $70,000/ year, commensurate on experienceHybrid work environment (2–5 days in office/field per week)This role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.Comprehensive benefits package, including:Health, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with 4% employer matchGenerous paid time offSummer Fridays in AugustProfessional development opportunitiesCurrent wellness perks, including weekly yoga classes and ClassPassJoin Our TeamJoin a mission-driven team moving at startup speed to create real change in New York City.
