Home Technology Specialist
Job Summary:
The Home Technology Specialist is responsible for designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining advanced residential technology systems. This includes audio-visual systems, home automation, security systems, networking, and other smart home solutions. The role requires technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional client experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Consult with clients to assess technology needs and recommend tailored solutions.
Design and implement home automation systems, including lighting, climate control, audio/video, and security.
Install and configure residential audio/visual equipment, including home theaters, projectors, multi-room audio, and displays.
Set up networking infrastructure, including wired and wireless networks, routers, switches, and Wi-Fi optimization.
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain installed systems to ensure optimal performance.
Provide technical support and training to clients on system use and maintenance.
Collaborate with other team members, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
Maintain detailed documentation of installations, configurations, and client interactions.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in home technology, AV integration, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of residential automation platforms (Control4, Savant, Crestron, etc.) and audio/video equipment.
Proficient in networking, including Wi-Fi, LAN, and basic network troubleshooting.
Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites.
Certification(s) in relevant technologies a plus (e.g., CTS, CEDIA, Crestron, Control4).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry equipment up to [50 lbs].
Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, or other tight areas.
Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Projected Total Compensation: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
