This position works closely with other members of the Docket Department to maintain the Firm's docket system. We are open to employees in this position that are remote or hybrid, but prefer candidates that reside in Arizona or those who are located in an already established Squire Patton Boggs location and willing to work west coast business hours.Responsibilities And SkillsPerforms electronic legal docketing via docketing software (CompuLaw) from court documents, correspondence, rules, and statutes; proven ability to independently research dates when necessary to supplement automated informationIntermediate knowledge and application of County, State, and U.S. District Court rules and regulationsReceives and reviews documents (correspondence, emails, forms, pleadings, etc.) submitted to the Docket Department for processing; determines method of service; utilizes CompuLaw and its incorporated rule sets to automatically calculate due dates, deadlines, and/or events in accordance with the appropriate rules; manually modifies docket event descriptions as requested and/or required; manually overrides resulting due dates, deadlines, and/or events as necessary. Advises attorneys and staff accordingly.Proofreads and reviews calendar entries to ensure accuracyMust have accurate typing and word processing skills and the ability to pay strict attention to detail. Spelling, punctuation, and use of grammar must be accurate.Must have strong organizational skills, exercise attention to detail, and be able to work well under pressureMust be an excellent communicator with strong reasoning and memory skillsService-oriented individual who is able to work independently in a well-organized mannerQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required and a college degree or equivalent preferred. Combination of education and experience must demonstrate the ability to do the essential functions of the position.Minimum of three years California litigation experience preferred and must have experience working with a variety of courts systemsCompuLaw experience strongly preferred.
