JOB DESCRIPTIONOversee the Implementation of In-School ProgrammingWork with school personnel to identify children who would benefit from small group supportbased on STAR Assessment dataOversee the implementation of and/or implement activities in Skill-Building and Read-Aloudcomponents facilitated by Save the Children trained literacy tutorsSupport literacy tutors in the planning and implementation of the literacy programProvide feedback to literacy tutors concerning best practices in literacyAdminister pre- and post-assessments for children participating in Save the ChildrenprogrammingOversee the Implementation of Afterschool ProgrammingStructure the schedule of activitiesWork with literacy staff to organize children into groups based on grade levels and readinglevelsWork with Healthy Choices Coordinator to organize children into groups based on grade levelsSupport literacy tutors in the planning and implementation of the literacy programProvide feedback to literacy tutors concerning best practices in literacyProvide feedback to Healthy Choices Coordinator concerning best practices for physicalactivity and nutrition education activities.Communicate regularly with Save the Children Lead AssociateRecord program attendanceOversee the Implementation of Math ProgrammingWork with the math tutor(s) to structure the schedule of the math blockWork with the math tutor(s) to organize children into groups based on grade/ability levelsSupport math tutor(s) in the planning and/or implementation of daily lessons and activitiesprovided in the pacing guide during the in-school, afterschool and/or summer programsProvide feedback to math tutor(s) concerning best practices in hands-on learning, mathroutines, and basic fact fluencyAssist with administering the STAR assessments and analyzing the dataAddress individual children's needs with appropriate staff and devise possible solutionsCommunicate regularly with their Lead AssociatePC ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES | GLP | KHD | 07.25PROGRAM COORDINATOR - ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESEngage Families in ProgrammingComplete the Family Engagement Checklist to identify site-specific family engagement focusareas for the program yearComplete an annual Family Engagement Planning Guide to outline specific family engagementpractices and activities to be conducted throughout the program yearImplement site-selected family engagement activities and practices throughout year, asoutlined in annual plan; these will vary by siteConduct at least two family engagement events during the program year to address key FamilyEngagement strategiesCollaborate with school administration and staff to identify areas of alignment between theprogram and school-wide family engagement practicesCommunicate regularly with Lead Associate regarding family engagement activitiesConduct the required Family Post-Survey at the end of the program year; send home andactively encourage completion and return of the Family Post-Survey by one parent/caregiver ofeach family with a child participating in the programSubmit family engagement data, including Family Post-Survey data and other identified datapoints, to Save the Children for analysis and reviewOversee the Implementation of Renaissance ProductsWork with school librarian to organize the books used for Save the Children programsAssist school personnel in the correct use of Renaissance products, as neededIncorporate one hour of planning time into daily schedule to access and analyze data andprepare for programmingAddress individual children's needs with appropriate staff and devise possible solutionsAssist school staff in administrating STAR Assessments, if neededAdminister post-STAR assessments (if their school/program doesn't otherwise do so) for everychild in Save the Children in-school and afterschool programsEnsure Safeguarding Policies are FollowedIn this role it will be critical to foster an environment that is safe for the children with whom Savethe Children is in contact. The duties to ensure this will include:Collaborate with Save the Children's Lead Associate to foster an understanding of our childsafeguarding and data protection policies through ongoing training and technical assistanceWork closely with all program staff to ensure consistent reporting of child safeguarding risksand incidents; strong methodology in the field for managing risks and following reportingprotocols; supplying proper documentation in support of incident reports as needed; andcollecting data on child safeguarding risks and efforts to mitigate risks in the programenvironmentMake intentional, regular efforts to remain up-to-date on key local and state child-welfarepolicies and reporting protocolsFollow all key local and state child-welfare policies and reporting protocols, as provided by theLead AssociateIn association with program training and technical assistance efforts, update/communicate"Keep Children Safe" messaging to volunteers, beneficiaries, and representatives as neededEnsure data protection by collecting consent, maintaining records for designated time period,storing all data in a secure location, and protecting any shared data through encryption or bysharing to a secure locationComplete all required Save the Children Safeguarding trainings.Save the Children is committed to conducting its programs and operations in a manner that is safe for thechildren it serves and helping protect the children with whom Save the Children is in contact. All Save theChildren representatives are explicitly prohibited from engaging in any activity that may result in any kindof child abuse. In addition, it is Save the Children's policy to create and proactively maintain anenvironment that aims to prevent and deter any actions and omissions, whether deliberate orinadvertent, that place children at the risk of any kind of child abuse. All our representatives are expectedto conduct themselves in a manner consistent with this commitment and obligation. Any violations of thispolicy will be treated as a serious issue.
