Westminster Nursing and Rehab - Duties & ResponsibilitiesMeal Preparation: Cook and plate meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including special requests, substitutes, and therapeutic/modified diets (e.g., pureed, diabetic, low-sodium).Quality & Standards: Ensure food meets standards for taste, texture, temperature, and appearance; sample food before serving.Food Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a clean, organized kitchen, clean equipment, and properly store, rotate, and label food.Dietary Compliance: Work with dietary staff to understand and implement resident diet orders and nutritional needs, noting resident consumption.Inventory & Supplies: Monitor and report food/supply needs, assist with ordering, and manage inventory.Documentation: Accurately record food temperatures, meal production, and inventory.Dining Room Support: Assist with setting up/taking down dining areas, serving meals, and delivering food to resident rooms.Special Events: Help plan and prepare food for parties, holidays, and other facility events.Equipment Maintenance: Monitor kitchen equipment functionality and report issues immediately.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED.Proven experience as a cook, preferably in healthcare, long-term care, or assisted living preferred.Knowledge of therapeutic diets, food safety, and sanitation (e.g., ServSafe certification).Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Working ConditionsMay involve standing for long periods, lifting, and working with hot equipment.Adherence to strict schedules and health regulations is required.kitchen environment.Hours:6:00am-2:30pm
