Special Education Department Leaders Twelve-month position which provides support and departmental leadership to building principals, the Director of Student Services, the Director of Special Education, and Special Education teachers in matters related to Special Education students, staffing, progress reporting, testing & programming in respective buildings. Duties include: Support team members with scheduling and paperwork questions, monitor timelines for reports and IEP meetings, review IEPs to ensure compliance and completion, and serve as an advocate for appropriate services and support. Qualifications, Mandatory: Special Education Teacher Certification with strong school experience Ability to interpret the IEP Knowledge of the Alternate Assessment DLM Knowledge of and experience in student scheduling Knowledge of IDEA, NJ Special Education Statutes and Code Knowledge of Differentiation of Instruction Solid understanding of the NJSLS. Strong work ethic and leadership skills Student Centered Focus Required criminal history background check Qualifications, Desired: NJ Principal or Supervisor certification Master's Degree in Education Prior leadership experiences Assignment in the specific building
