Senior DevSecOps Engineer – Space TechnologyLocation: Los Angeles, USA (On-site)Job Type: Full-timeA rapidly growing space technology company is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to build, automate, and secure the software delivery pipeline supporting mission-critical aerospace systems.This is a hands-on role for an experienced engineer who enjoys designing secure CI/CD environments, modern cloud infrastructure, and automated deployment pipelines. You'll work closely with software, cloud and platform engineering teams to ensure software is delivered securely, reliably and efficiently into highly regulated environments.The RoleAs the Senior DevSecOps Engineer, you'll own the software delivery lifecycle - from source control and automated testing through security validation, packaging and deployment. You'll play a key role in strengthening engineering processes while enabling development teams to deliver software at scale.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister and optimise GitLab and CI/CD platforms, including runners, project configuration and security features.Design, build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines.Develop secure software packaging and deployment workflows.Manage containerised build environments and container registries.Integrate security throughout the software development lifecycle, including:SASTDASTSoftware Composition Analysis (SCA)Secrets scanningSBOM generationImplement Infrastructure as Code for provisioning and configuration management.Work within secure, highly regulated cloud environments.Collaborate with software, platform and security teams to ensure compliance with industry security standards.Support continuous monitoring, auditing and security best practices.Mentor engineers on DevSecOps tools and methodologies.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).5+ years' experience in DevSecOps, DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering.Strong experience with:GitLab administrationCI/CD pipeline developmentAWS or other major cloud platformsContainer technologies and image managementExperience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK or Helm.Strong understanding of application security and secure software delivery.Experience working in regulated or high-security environments.Eligible to obtain security clearance if required.Desirable SkillsExperience with cloud governance and service catalogue solutions.Python scripting (Go or PowerShell also beneficial).Experience generating compliance evidence including SBOMs, code scanning and software signing.Knowledge of recognised cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST.Industry certifications such as AWS Security, CISSP or GitLab certifications.Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline.What's on OfferOpportunity to work on cutting-edge space and aerospace technology.High-impact role with ownership of modern DevSecOps infrastructure.Collaborative engineering culture focused on innovation.Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.Excellent opportunities for professional growth and technical development.If you're passionate about secure cloud infrastructure, automation and supporting next-generation space systems, we'd love to hear from you.Contact: angela.olmo@newspacetechnical.com
