We develop and manage Apple's global real estate portfolio, lead all related capital construction projects, provide outstanding facilities and site services, develop and lead sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of all Apple facilities, including commute and renewable energy programs, and do everything we can to ensure the health and safety of all Apple personnel, facilities, and customers in our facilities around the world. The Environmental Health & Safety team at Apple is growing and we are looking for an upbeat, dedicated and flexible professional to join a team committed to protecting the environment, health, and safety of our employees, customers and the global communities where we operate, while supporting our partners in their mission to develop amazing products. As Apple's EHS Lead, you will provide all aspects of EHS support across a variety of workplace settings including but not limited to office spaces, content production stages, and research laboratories. You are a self-starter who can work independently, anticipate the needs of the team, and take initiative to seek out improvement opportunities. You are an inventive, ambitious, and highly organized individual who enjoys solving problems in creative ways in a fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesPerforming EHS inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations and global standardsCoordinating chemical inventories, emergency evacuation drills, new equipment and chemical reviews, operational risk assessments, and regulatory agency inspections and completing assigned compliance tasks in a timely mannerConducting incident investigations and developing corrective action plans to prevent future occurrencesStaying up to date on regulations and standard processes, and making recommendations for improvements to procedures and programsHandling EHS documentation and record keeping, ensuring all vital permits and reports are completed accurately and on timeActing as a point of contact for EHS related inquiries and concerns from employees and onsite contractorsCoordinating and responding to onsite emergency response effortsParticipating in the review of operations, processes, and procedures at the proposal/design phase and throughout implementation to control and reduce EHS hazardsCollaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement EHS initiatives and improvements, - Providing mentorship and training to employees on procedures and practices to promote an outstanding culture.Minimum Qualifications7+ years of EHS experienceBachelor's degree in a relevant EHS disciplineKnowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation methodologiesExperience in developing, maintaining and implementing written EHS programs and processes, tools, and materialsExperience providing laboratory and facilities EHS supportAbility to be on call and work off hours as needed, and is comfortable with acting as a first responder in emergency scenariosPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in a relevant EHS disciplineEHS experience in multi-national companiesNationally recognized professional credentials preferred (i.e., Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM))Pay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $124,100 and $186,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
