A strong focus on submittals and RFIs is essential to this role. In the performance of these functions, the Project Engineer is responsible for the protection and promotion of the interests of Shaw in all matters.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist the Project Manager and Superintendent in administrative and document control tasks, including:Document Controls & SetupEstablish and maintain jobsite files, record drawings, and electronic document systemsSet up and manage Submittal Log, RFI Log, and LEED/green program documentationSubmittalsPrepare submittal schedule for PM and Superintendent approvalReceive, review, distribute, and log all submittalsPrepare weekly submittal status reports for OAC meetingsRFIs & ClarificationsAssist the Superintendent with the full RFI processReceive, distribute, and record clarification documents (RFIs, ASIs, revised drawings)Prepare weekly RFI status reports for OAC meetingsChange Orders & FinancialsAssist PM with requesting, collecting, and reviewing subcontractor pricing on changesPrepare subcontractor modifications for PM approval and signatureAssist PM with assembling Owner change ordersAssist PM with review of monthly job costs and correction of cost coding errorsCloseout & TurnoverDevelop lists of turnover and closeout requirements by subcontractFacilitate building turnover, punchlist tracking, and subcontract closeoutCollect and log all required closeout documentsGeneralAdminister and document LEED or other green programsAssist Superintendent with QA/QC documentation and weekend/vacation field coverageParticipate in company training programsAssist with pre-construction, including estimating and quantificationEducation & ExperienceFour-year college degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management requiredMinimum 2 years of construction experience requiredHands-on experience with submittals and RFIs is essential to this roleProficiency with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam) preferredCompensationPay Type: SalaryPay Range: $75,000 – $85,000 per year, based on qualifications and experienceBonus commensurate with individual performance, company performance, and experienceBenefitsPaid Time Off & Paid Holidays401(k) Plan with Company MatchMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceWellness Program & Employee Assistance ProgramHealth Savings Account (HSA) with Company contributionFlexible Spending Account (FSA) OptionsLife and AD&D Insurance (company paid) and Voluntary Life & AD&D Insurance (employee paid)Long-term Disability Insurance (company paid)Short-term Disability, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, and Accident Insurance (employee paid)
