We are currently seeking a Cook to join our team in Alaska. The Cook is responsible for the preparation and safe handling of food, including baking, broiling, grilling, braising, poaching, and cold preparation items, while maintaining a high level of safety and sanitation on a boat in Alaska. DutiesandResponsibilitiesinclude,butarenotlimited to:Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a sanitary environment for all staff on the projectPlan a cooking schedule to ensure foods will be ready at specified timesClean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, utensils, and work areas in accordance with governing health and safety standardsMeasure and mix ingredients according to recipes and proper cooking standardsUse a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment, including scales, mixers, grinders, and slicers, to prepare menu itemsWash, cut, and prepare foods designated for cooking by grilling, frying, steaming, or bakingMaintain an accurate inventory of food stores for meals while keeping storage spaces and coolers organized and rotatedConserve, properly store, and use leftovers and leftover raw materialsOther duties as assignedEducationHigh school diploma or equivalentExperience1-2 years of related experienceCurrent food handler's permitKnowledge/SkillsCurrent Food Handlers Card or ServSafe certificationAbility to successfully complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Excellent organizational skills and time management skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work with a team and independentlyAbility to proactively identify issues and offer solutionsPhysical/Mental RequirementsAbility to work any day of the week, both night and day, on a boat in navigation in AlaskaApply online at Equal Employment OpportunityGlobal is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
