Reporting to the Technical Product Manager and working in close partnership with the IT Team, you will form the technical backbone of Ground Up’s internal tools function.This is a foundational hire for someone who takes pride in well-run systems—clean infrastructure-as-code, reliable deployments, sensible cost management, and robust security. You will make it easy for the rest of the team to ship, directly shaping what we can deliver with real ownership over how we operate.Our environment is Microsoft 365, Azure, Claude (Teams plan), and a growing collection of internal tools we are building to make Ground Up more productive.This is a foundational hire. You will work side-by-side with our IT Team and Business Users and report to our Technical Product Manager. The platform you build will directly shape what the rest of the team can deliver, and you will have real ownership over how we operate.What You'll Work OnOwn and operate our Azure environment: App Service, Functions, Entra ID, KeyVault, SQL DB’s, networking, and cost governanceMaintain and evolve our DevOps pipelines, including CI/CD for internal applications,MCP servers, and automation deploymentsDeploy and operate platform services that our developers and AI tools depend on,including MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, integration endpoints, and sharedinfrastructureManage SSO, identity, and access patterns across our Microsoft 365 and Azureenvironments — Entra ID, conditional access, service principals, secrets in Key VaultEstablish and maintain monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices for ourgrowing application portfolioOwn infrastructure-as-code: provision and manage Azure resources reproduciblyusing Bicep, Terraform, or ARM templatesManage and report on our Azure spend — track costs, identify waste, and makesure infrastructure is sized appropriatelyWhat We're Looking For2+ years of hands-on Azure experience, including App Service, Entra ID, Key Vault, and Azure DevOps PipelinesStrong infrastructure-as-code skills (Bicep, Terraform, or ARM templates)Comfortable scripting in PowerShell and at least one of Python or BashSolid understanding of identity and access patterns: Entra ID, SSO, conditional access, service principalsExperience operating production workloads — you have been on-call, you have debugged the 2 a.m. alert, and you have opinions about what good monitoring looks likePragmatic about cost: you treat the Azure bill as something to be understood and managed, not just paidClear written and verbal communication; you can document what you build and explain operational tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholdersBonus PointsExperience with Microsoft Power Platform or Microsoft FabricFamiliarity with the Microsoft 365 admin surface — tenant configuration, Graph API, security policiesBackground supporting application teams that integrate LLM APIs or other AI toolingExperience with small-team environments where "DevOps" includes a fair amount of light development workExposure to MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers or other AI-adjacentinfrastructureMicrosoft Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-305, or similar)Compensation Target base salary range: $110,000 – $115,000, depending on experience.GUP PerksMedical, Dental, Vision, 401k plan & access to employee recognition programs.Paid vacation, holidays, Eternal Summer Fridays, birthdays off & more!Friendly, fun, creative & collaborative work environment.Ground Up International is an equal opportunity employer.
