CHANDLER UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION: SUPPORT STAFF JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTING GRANT COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST CALENDAR: 2611E (12 MONTH) SALARY: GRADE 120 (SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL) Job Goal Performing accounting/clerical services in compliance with federal, state, county, and district accounting. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent coursework and experience Certified Public Accountant desired Three or more years of relevant experience Good human relations and communication skills Broad knowledge of relevant district, state, and federal policies and laws Skill in reading, interpreting, understanding, and applying relevant federal, state, and CUSD rules, regulations, policies, and procedures Excellent computer skills and ability to work with standard software products Satisfactory criminal background check Ability to hold an IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card Core Job Functions Assist in implementing internal controls to ensure Collaborate with District personnel to develop strategic objectives and/or improve the quality of operational processes and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency. Monitor grant expenditures to ensure funds are used in accordance with approved grant applications and regulations. Track grant timelines, deliverables, and milestones to ensure timely completion of all grant-related activities. Perform frequent drawdowns of grant funds to ensure proper cash flow and financial management, as well as submission of completion reports. Maintain accurate records and documentation for all grants, including budgets, reports, and correspondence. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to grant funding. Serve as the primary point of contact for grant-related inquiries and communications. Create reports and assist with preparation for audits, both internal and external. Research discrepancies of financial information and/or documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance. Maintain and update the grants capital plan. Review existing policies and procedures and make recommendations for improvements. Assist in maintaining and updating District accounting software. Research the exploration and implementation of new accounting system tools. Assist in performing accounting functions as needed and/or assigned to ensure that department functions are completed in an accurate and timely manner. Produce a variety of materials to provide written documentation, convey information, and/or comply with guidelines. Participate in meetings and workshops to convey and/or gather information required to perform District functions.
