Copy or summarize recorded documents, which affect the condition of title to the property. These roles may be found in production center or branch office environments. Actual work flow is typically determined by geographic practices. In some cases, the Title Examiner role gathers information and creates a commitment of title before passing along to a Title Officer.Works independently and uses experience to examine title to real property, ranging in complexity, to determine status and establish chain of title.How You'll ContributePerforms title examination and examines the chain of title for a wide range of title orders, primarily residentialAbstracts and analyzes records, such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plat and map books, to determine ownership and legal restrictions and to verify legal description of property and completeness of recordsResolves most issues such as missing information, incomplete, inaccurate or contradictory information contained in the title documentationPrepares initial title commitment documentation based on the application of procedural guidelinesPrepares and reviews reports for accuracyMay provide underwriting interpretation within established guidelinesOther duties as assignedWhat You'll BringRequired Education, Experience, Certification/LicensureHigh School diploma or equivalentTypically requires 2+ years directly related experienceState license(s) if requiredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)Detail / quality orientationAnalytical review skillsResearch and investigative skillsStrong problem-solving skillsCommunication skills, both verbal and writtenCustomer service orientationStandard MS skill setProficient with company operating systemsKnowledge of legal terms helpfulPay Range: $23.37 - $31.14 HourlyThis hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
