Design Assistant
Role SummaryThe Design Assistant supports the design team in project execution, client communications, and administrative coordination. This role combines creative support, project organization, and technical assistance, helping the studio deliver beautiful, functional designs.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the design team with product and material research, sourcing finishes, fabrics, and furnishings.Assist in preparing client presentations, mood boards, and design concepts.Maintain and organize material libraries, sample inventories, and project files.Create and update digital project collateral and presentations.Catalog outcomes of selection meetings and standardize organization of project materials.Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and clients regarding samples, deliveries, and updates.Assist with project documentation, layouts, diagrams, elevations, and schedules.Take part in site measurements, photo documentation, and job site observations.Help manage timelines, purchase orders, and project logistics.Ensure project workflows follow studio standards and quality expectations.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent experience.Comfortable learning and using Chief Architect (CA)Strong organization, attention to detail, and communication skills.Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.Professional and courteous in interactions with clients and vendors.Self-motivated, hard-working, and reliableAbility to work well in a team environment and initiative to be a proactive self-starterAttention to detail and ability to communicate design ideas and direction quicklyPreferred (Not Required)Previous experience in residential design projects.Familiarity with materials, finishes, and procurement processes.What Success Looks LikeTimely completion of design support tasks.Well‑organized project files, sample libraries, and documentation.Smooth coordination across design, procurement, and project teams.Clear and professional communication internally and externally.
