Network Engineer

Position: Network Engineer USC/GC onlyLocation: REMOTEDuration: 1 YearsJob DescriptionThe ideal candidate will be a route/switch network engineer with Cisco IPSEC VPN experience using Cisco CLI. We need network engineers familiar with building IPSEC site-to-site VPN tunnels, via command line, and able to read and understand route tables. The candidate will also need to be able to troubleshoot complex routing situations. Along with these technical skills, this position also requires outstanding communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The candidate will be dealing with multiple external 3rd party companies, negotiating VPN variables, coordinating, and scheduling the changes, and troubleshooting connectivity issues after deployment.TOP REQUIREMENTS: Years of experience: 8+ yearsConfiguration and troubleshooting of IPSEC site-to-site VPNsAbility to read, understand and troubleshoot complex routing issuesStrong understanding of networking in a multi-data center environment.Works with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasksCommunicate effectively with leadership, peers, project managers, clients, and stakeholdersFlexible work schedule with ability to make after hours changes.US Based due to the support of Government connectivity requirements.Primary ResponsibilitiesConfiguration and troubleshooting of IPSEC site-to-site VPNsAuthor technical documentation such as network diagramsMonitor network performance and implement performance tuning when necessaryDiagnose connectivity problems and resolve network issuesWork closely with clients and vendors on implementation of products and servicesEnsure security and operational standards and procedures are maintained in accordance with compliance requirements, HIPAA standards, and industry best practicesWorks with minimal guidance; seeks guidance only on the most complex tasksCommunicate effectively with leadership, peers, project managers, clients, and stakeholdersPreferred QualificationsCCNP or higher certification, or experience that aligns with certificationExperience installing and maintaining Cisco routers and switchesExperience in Arista switch managementExperience in Palo Alto firewallsDocumentation skills and use of programs such as VisioSkilled in a scripting language such as PythonAbility to manage multiple priorities and projects
