Candidates who reside within 50 miles of the following locations may be asked to work in person three days per week: Bloomfield, CT, Chattanooga, TN, Denver, CO, St Louis, MO, or Scottsdale, AZ.The internal job profile for this position is Operating Effectiveness Advisor, which is a Band 4 Senior Contributor Career Track Role. The Instructional Designer for the Claims Training and Design team is responsible for learning content design and development for the Provider Readiness & Performance Solutions Department organization.Principal ResponsibilitiesConducts needs/skill gap analysis to identify opportunities to improve the performance of our operational partners, or to help prepare our operational partners for upcoming changeBased on needs analysis, applies adult learning theories and methodologies to propose appropriate and effective learning solutions for closing gaps and increasing skills and competenciesDetermines measurable learning objectives for training programsDesigns, develops and maintains training materials and new hire curricula, working with subject matter experts/line of businessProduces materials for various delivery methods, including job aids, classroom, eLearning, social learningConducts train the trainer for programs developedManages highly complex training projects independentlyMeasures the effectiveness of programs and materials with level I, II, III and IV (Kirkpatrick) analysis and reports back to the businessAccountable for demonstrating the success of all programsIdentifies opportunities to improve performance of our operational partners through deep understanding of business needs and resultsProvides consultative guidance on learning approach and plan to enable improved performanceDevelops knowledge and skill development tools for operational employeesDemonstrates impact of initiatives to the businessUnderstands the business they are supporting and identifies key business priorities and needsEnsures that all key stakeholders are aware of the training progress, status, and potential risksStay abreast of industry trends in the field of Learning and seeks opportunities for self-directed developmentSpecific activities that support this responsibility include:Completing all required intake items for projects assigned to them, including developing performance objectives , providing regular performance feedback, and completing reviews with the requestorEnsuring that all materials designed and developed by the team meet the department's high standards for quality of workEnsuring that all materials are designed, developed and delivered on time according to project plansEnsure that training meets agreed upon learning objectives .Measure the effectiveness of these initiatives in improving organizational performanceRecommend and implement solutions to these issuesIdentifies opportunities to improve performance of our operational partnersDevelops knowledge and skill development tools for operational employeesApplies performance development methodology to identify critical skill gaps and develop appropriate and effective learning interventions for closing gaps and developing skill setsSupports training delivery as needs arise (virtual, instructor led, etc.)Decision MakingResponsible for making determination of the best approach to address performance issuesAssists with determining the scope of a projectDetermines timeframes for deliverables in order to meet business needsDetermines methods to measure the success of the program and report back to the businessQualificationsA Bachelor's degree or higher strongly preferred or equivalent work experience required8+ years of instructional design experience with all levels of the organization including executives and senior leadersExperience designing, developing and delivering various materials including new hire training curriculums, project training, eLearning solutions and written procedures strongly preferredMust have the ability to work independently and with a team5+ years' experience supporting operational initiatives with the ability to work on multiple priorities and meet deadlines highly preferredRequires excellent verbal and written communication skills with expertise in preparing and delivering exceptional presentations and speeches with confidence, and professionalism.Must be detail oriented, have strong relationship building and organizational skillsMust have at minimum an intermediate level proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience with eLearning and graphic tools are necessary.Must have proficiency in the use of basic image editing tools such as SnagitMust have proficiency in the use of collaboration tools such as SharePoint, Iris, myUniversity , SuccessFactors LMS preferredMust have proficiency in eLearning development tools such as Articulate, Camtasia, and VyondMust have proficiency to leverage adult learning principles and instruction design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, Agile Instructional Design) to build appropriate curricula to meet business / strategic objectivesIf you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 93,200 - 155,400 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.At The Cigna Group, you'll enjoy a comprehensive range of benefits, with a focus on supporting your whole health.
