Position description UCSF School of Medicine and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals Division of Neonatology, Department of Pediatrics Adjunct, Clinical X, and HS Clinical Faculty SeriesThe Division of Neonatology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals SF/Oakland is recruiting neonatal hospitalists. Appointment will be made at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank in the Adjunct, Clinical X, or Health Sciences (HS) Clinical faculty series. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and established fellowship training program. This position may have clinical responsibilities at both the San Francisco and Oakland campuses and would actively contribute to the Department's mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.Clinical Opportunities IncludeProviding care in the Level IV Intensive Care Nursery at UCSF Benioff Children's HospitalsIndependent management of lower-acuity patientsSupervised care of high-acuity patientsNeonatal resuscitationsParticipation in the neonatal transport team (depending on candidate interest)Academic Opportunities IncludeClinical teaching and bedside instructionResident and fellow educationQuality improvement initiativesClinical investigation and scholarly activities aligned with candidate interestsMinimum QualificationsMedical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) and eligibility for medical licensure in CaliforniaBoard eligibility or certification in PediatricsPreferred QualificationsDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environmentStrong interest in pursuing a career in academic pediatricsExperience supervising and teaching medical students, residents, or fellows For positions that are 51% effort or more: The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $114,100-$344,400. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation. For positions that are 50% effort or less: See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $81,500-$246,000.
