Certified Medical Assistant
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Assistant to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will have strong surgical assisting experience, excellent transcription skills, and the ability to follow physician directions efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms
Assist surgeon during surgical procedures
Prepare and set up surgical trays, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are ready for use.
Accurately transcribe physician's notes and follow medication prescribing directions
Maintain a clean and organized surgical environment
Provide exceptional patient care and support
Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
Support physicians with clinical tasks such as medication administration, specimen collection, and basic wound care
Operate EHR systems efficiently to document patient information accurately and securely
Support physicians during procedures such as X-ray imaging or minor surgical interventions
Provide patient education on treatment plans, medication usage, and post-care instructions
Requirements
Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required
Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; additional certifications such as X-ray or emergency medicine training are a plus
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and patient safety
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
