Sr. Security Software Engineer, Security Operations
Overview:
Join Pinterest as a Senior Security Software Engineer to lead Security Operations platforms and influence security in the software lifecycle. You'll own scalable security services, automation, and governance across AWS and CI/CD, shaping how engineering teams build securely. You'll apply AI responsibly to accelerate security work and drive operational maturity. Responsibilities:
- Own architecture and technical direction of core Security Operations systems and developer-facing security features
- Build reliable production services, infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code governing cloud resources and delivery workflows
- Create scalable guardrails for identity, access, configuration, and CI/CD security
- Improve vulnerability identification and remediation through automation and clear accountability
- Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from design to adoption and maturity
- Set engineering standards and guide teams to improve security system quality, reliability and effectiveness using AI responsibly
- Apply AI to accelerate security analyses while ensuring proper validation and data handling
Key requirements:
- Experience designing, building, and operating complex production systems in security, cloud, or platform engineering
- Strong AWS security architecture experience and Terraform / IaC, ideally in large multi-account setups
- Experience in cloud governance, CI/CD security, vulnerability management, security automation or developer security tooling
- Proven ownership of complex, ambiguous technical initiatives and impact beyond a single team
- Solid software engineering judgment across system design, APIs, reliability, testing, and secure operation of security-critical systems
- Ability to influence technical decisions, communicate risks clearly and mentor others with responsible AI use
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
