Payroll Specialist

We have an opportunity for a Payroll Specialist to join our team. Our payroll specialist is part of our payroll team and a member of our finance team that will ensure accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information, and participate in daily payroll processing. This position is not a remote position and will require you to report to our office in Kalispell, MT.
Key Functions
Review entered and imported time in our payroll software and make certain for accuracy
Perform routine and non-routine payroll department operations
Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc)
Provide financial and operational reporting as needed
Provide back up within the payroll department and other accounting functions when necessary
Qualifications
Minimum of two (2) years of payroll support strongly preferred
Experience with Davis Bacon Payroll processing preferred
Construction experience preferred but not necessary

Working knowledge of payroll best practices

Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material

Proficient in using Microsoft Office
Compensation
Hourly rate of pay $25 to $31 an hour based on experience

Year 1 – Employer covers 80% of total (family) premiums
Years 2 & 3 – Employer covers 90% of total (family) premiums
Years 4 or more - Employer covers 100% of total (family) premiums
