District Manager - Los Angeles

We’re looking for a District Manager to grow the VCT-USA portfolio in both off premise (general market) and on premise channels throughout the Greater Los Angeles area / Southern California. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring execution in chains. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily management of our wine brands in the distributor network and key accounts throughout a broad geography of markets including, but not limited to the Greater Los Angeles area, San Fernando Valley, Kern County and the Central Coast region―Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura. Additional markets may include North Orange County.This role is primarily sales‑ and activation‑focused, responsible for driving performance and executing key initiatives to strengthen customer relationships and support commercial growth. You will influence results through effective communication, collaboration, and on‑the‑ground execution. This role reports to the Regional Manager.This is a remote role based in the Greater Los Angeles area with the ideal candidate based in the West LA corridor to South Bay, Downtown LA and surrounding area, or Long Beach. This role entails overnight travel of approximately 10% to 15%.This is primarily a selling- and activation-based role present in market 85%-905 of time. In conjunction with distributor partners, represent the VCT-USA portfolio of domestic and import brands; gain distribution in both on and off premise; secure displays and cold box placements in retail; by-the-glass (BTG) and wine lists in on premise; provide product education and training to key accounts, distributor managers and sales teams to keep our brands top of mind; partner with Marketing Team to support local marketing initiatives; execute brand programs in accordance with sales and marketing strategies.This is a remote role and entails overnight travel of approximately 10% to 15%.-Part of fifth largest global winery Viña Concha y Toro (32 million cases)-#1 South American wine supplier in the U.S.-Sell highly-awarded wines.Don Melchor Wine Spectator Wine of the Year 2024; 4x Top 10; 10x Top 100Bonterra The Roost and Amelia Chardonnay Wine Enthusiast Top 100 Wines of 2025Mendocino County named Wine Enthusiast American Wine Region of the Year 2024Bonterra Wine Enthusiast Top 100 Wines of 2024 and Top 100 Best Buys of 2024Bonterra Wine Enthusiast American Winery of the Year 2016Casillero del Diablo is the official wine sponsor of the Mexico National Football TeamTrivento is the most chosen Argentine wine in the world 2024 (IWSR)Key ResponsibilitiesAccountable for market-level sales activation and driving key brand programs.Build strong relationships with top retail accounts and local chains and identify key selling opportunities.Develop strong relationships with distributor teams to multiply efforts and gain share of mind.Coordinate market work-withs, surveys, and sales blitzes with distributor teams.Provide weekly market performance recaps and identify execution gaps to Region Manager.Track program compliance, competitive pricing, and feature execution.Annual Business PlanningAccountable for market activation and KPIs within assigned area of responsibility.DepletionsExecute all confirmed chain/brand programs applicable to assigned territory.Accountable for Luxury Brand Collection execution, where assigned.Grow distribution on brand focus programs.Communicate progress on execution priorities with Region Manager and distributor teams.Budget ManagementAdhere to assigned budget limits within assigned territory.Submit all requests for additional spend to Region Manager for further submission and processing.Distributor ManagementDistributor relationship priorities include: Key District Managers and Sales Reps; Division Managers; Chain Account Managers.Attend General Sales Meetings (GSM) and training sessions when applicable.Market ImpactBe present in the market 85%-90%.Customer-facing role to predominantly sell against VCT-USA key brand/chain/channel programs.Conduct distributor 'work withs' and perform key account development.Provide market healthy audits to regional management/leadership and ensure pricing compliance to VCT-USA standards.RequirementsBachelor’s in Business/Marketing or related field plus minimum 2-5 sales experience in wine and spirits/ beverage industry, or equivalent combination education/experienceProven success in alcohol beverage industry sales and account management including extensive knowledge of on- and off-premise wine channels and trade.Knowledge and passion for both luxury/premium and commercial wines and excitement for selling a wide spectrum of price points and formats.Valid Driver’s License and the ability to be insured.Overnight travel approximately 10% of time; weekend and evening work as required.Travel throughout region required.PreferredExperience selling imports and/or organic categories, advantageous.Circana experience, a plus.Wine education or certification (WSET or CSW preferred)Physical RequirementsAbility to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis, push and pull up to 30 lbs. on occasional basis; ability to sit /work at desk for long periods of time; requires ability to walk/stand; reach outward/upward, climb, crawl, squat, kneel, bend; requires hand and finger dexterity for keyboarding/working at computer for extended periods of time.
