Dirt Drill Operator/Locator (CDL A Required)
We are seeking a motivated Dirt Drill Operator/Locator to join our team. This role supports the installation of underground conduit, handholes, pedestals, cabinets, and other infrastructure needed for cable and fiber construction. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, eager to learn, and capable of working in a fast-paced outdoor environment with heavy equipment and machinery.
Responsibilities
Assist with trenching, plowing, sawing, digging, potholing, and horizontal directional drilling.
Place and pull conduit, innerducts, cables, vaults, and related infrastructure.
Operate crew vehicles, vacuum excavation equipment, mini excavators, drills, and other construction tools.
Perform traffic control/flagging duties when required.
Transport and load/unload heavy equipment to and from job sites.
Survey job sites and ensure all safety measures are in place.
Follow OSHA, NESC, and company safety guidelines.
Complete accurate daily reports and activity documentation.
Maintain company equipment in excellent working condition.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Prior construction or directional drilling experience preferred, but not required.
Valid CDL with safe driving record (or ability to obtain CDL within 30 days; Class A
within 6 months).
Ability to read and follow safety rules, operating manuals, and procedures.
Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, overtime, out-of-town assignments, and emergency callouts.
