SUMMARY
The ML/SPED Paraprofessional is responsible for providing supplemental instructional and behavioral support to Multilingual Learners (MLs) and students with special education needs. This role adds an additional layer of targeted support that enhances both the ML instruction provided by ML specialists and the general education instruction delivered by classroom teachers. Working collaboratively with both teams, the ML/SPED Paraprofessional helps ensure equitable access to the curriculum and fosters language development and academic achievement in an inclusive environment.

Provide additional support to ML students beyond the core ML instruction provided by certified ML specialists. This includes reinforcing language acquisition skills such as speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

Assist in delivering targeted language instruction that complements the strategies used by ML specialists, using scaffolding techniques and differentiated instruction tailored to students' proficiency levels.

Implement evidence-based instructional strategies to support MLs in developing academic language across various content areas (e.g., mathematics, science, social studies), thereby enhancing their ability to access general education content.

Collaborate with ML specialists and general education teachers to create a cohesive learning experience that integrates language development with academic content.
