Apply via Dice today!Location: Tempe, AZSalary: $55.00 USD Hourly - $65.00 USD HourlyDescription: Our client is currently seeking a Senior Engineer, Packaging Engineering for a 6 month + contract.Looking for a packaging engineer with regulated industry packaging design.Must have experience:Regulated industry packaging designRegulated industry packaging Design Verification/validationPackaging test failure RCA experienceExperience with packaging testing per ISO 11607Nice to have:Supplier management 2+ yearsProject leadership 2+ yearsEquipment Qualification 2+yearsRequired education:Bachelor's degree in packaging engineering or related field and 2+ years' packaging industry experienceORAssociate's Degree in packaging or related field and 4+ years' packaging industry experienceDay to day responsibilities:Author engineering test protocols. Work with sourcing tomonitor external vendor test and delivery status. Reviewtest data and assess success criteria. Work through failureanalysis if applicable. Author packaging test reports.Develops and designs packaging equipment and materials for safe, convenient and attractive transport of goods under a variety of conditions. Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to determine the required type of packaging materials and to maximize convenience, utility and function based on the product's physical characteristics, safety and special-handling requirements. Evaluates packaging and transporting methods and procedures to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Evaluates and recommends efficient packing procedures, innovations in packaging materials, and utilization of sealing and fastening devices.This is an individual contributor role that requires the use of judgement in applying professional expertise and is expected to work independently with minimal supervision. Roles typically require a university degree or an extensive amount of practical knowledge gained through experience. Job requires an understanding and application of procedures and concepts of own discipline. The job requires attention to detail in making evaluative judgements based on the analysis of factual information.
