Senior Cost Accounting Manager
The Senior Accounting Manager – Standard Costing & Operations is a key member of the Accounting leadership team, responsible for ensuring company accounting practices conform to GAAP, with a strong emphasis on standard cost accounting, inventory valuation, and operational financial control.This role owns the standard cost framework for manufacturing and project-based operations, including product cost builds, cost maintenance, absorption, and variance analysis. The Senior Accounting Manager leads the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes related to inventory, standard cost variances, and project costing, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and actionable insights for Operations leadership.The ideal candidate brings deep experience in manufacturing environments, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to translate cost data into operational decision support. This role also drives continuous improvement in accounting processes, internal controls, reporting, and ERP system optimization.Required Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or Master’s preferred).15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including manufacturing environments.Demonstrated expertise in standard cost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing finance.Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and cost accounting principles.Proven ability to analyze and clearly explain cost variances to both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.Experience preparing and presenting financial and operational reports to senior leadership.Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
