Robotic Welding Engineer
Position Summary:We are seeking a hands-on Robotic Welding Engineer to support the design, programming, and launch of custom robotic welding systems. This role is critical in developing robust weld processes, integrating automation, and leading successful system startups at customer facilities.If you enjoy owning the weld process—from robot path to final production—this is a high-impact opportunity in an automation and machine build environment, working alongside a talented and supportive team.Key Responsibilities:Robotic Programming & Optimization: Create, test, and optimize robot paths and weld schedules using Fanuc (Roboguide), ABB (RobotStudio), or Yaskawa platformsProcess Development: Establish Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS), select proper wire/gas combinations, and conduct DOE studies to ensure repeatable, high-quality weldsDevelop and refine welding processes including MIG, CMT, spot welding, adhesives, and hemmingCollaborate on fixture and tooling design to ensure proper part location, clamping, and weld accessSupport system build, debug, and validation (FAT/SAT)Lead onsite commissioning, troubleshoot weld defects (porosity, spatter, etc.), and optimize performanceDevelop and maintain critical documentation, including robot programs, weld parameter settings, and system manualsTrain customer operators and maintenance teams during system startupQualifications:Strong understanding of welding codes (AWS, ASME) and metallurgyExperience with welding equipment and power sources such as WTC, Fronius, Lincoln, or similarAWS Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) or similar certificationExperience with offline programming tools (Roboguide, RobotStudio, etc.)CAD experience (SolidWorks or AutoCAD)Background in automation integration or custom machine builds is beneficialBachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Robotics, or related fieldExperience in robotic welding, automation, or machine building is beneficialStrong knowledge of welding processes, particularly MIG or resistance weldingExperience programming industrial robots and integrating weld systems preferredAbility to troubleshoot and optimize robotic welding performanceStrong communication skills and ability to manage multiple projectsWillingness to travel up to 30% to support installationsWork Environment:Collaborative automation and machine build settingHands-on work with robotic welding cells, tooling, and equipmentMix of in-house build support and onsite customer commissioningTake the next step in your career with a company that invests in you—because we succeed when you do.Apply now to join ArtiFlex and become an owner in your future.Who We AreArtiFlex Manufacturing designs and builds products and solutions for companies with tough challenges by employing people with a willingness and ability to be “Innovative.
