Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU/IMC) position in El Paso, TX, requiring at least 1 year of telemetry or PCU experience and current ACLS and BLS certifications.Job Details• Located on the 3rd floor of a hospital in El Paso, TX, in an Intermediate Care/Progressive Care Unit (IMC/PCU),• 24-bed unit staffed with a charge nurse, 5 RNs, and 2 PCTs per shift,• Patient ratio of 1:5,• Cardiac and telemetry patient population including post-cath lab (left/right heart caths, pacemakers, Watchman, ablations), stroke, and COVID patients,• GE remote telemetry equipment used,• EMR: Meditech,• Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM,• 2 weekends required per pay period,• No on-call requirements,Job Requirements• Active TX RN license or compact RN license required,• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start),• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required,• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, IMC, or telemetry RN experience required,• Competency in cardiac rhythm interpretation required,• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration,• One professional reference required,• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months,Additional Information• Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible,• Procedures commonly performed on this unit include care for post-cardiac cath lab patients, stroke patients, and COVID patients,• Shift huddle is held at the nurses' station at the start of each shift (0645 or 1845); attendance is expected,• Bedside shift report (BSSR) and updating patient communication boards are standard practice,• Preferred experience includes charge/leadership, critical care, and monitor tech experience,• Scrub color requirement: galaxy blue for nurses,• Unacceptable attire includes hooded sweaters/jackets, full pull-over sweaters, fanny packs, and Crocs,
