L3 Network Engineer (Palo Alto / Cisco / SD-WAN)
Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled L3 Network Engineer with deep expertise in Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco networking technologies, including switching, routing, and SD-WAN (Viptela). This role requires a strong blend of architectural understanding and hands-on technical execution. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable designing network solutions and implementing them at the command-line level.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN environmentsConfigure and manage Palo Alto firewalls, including security policies, NAT, VPNs, and threat prevention featuresDeploy and troubleshoot Cisco switching and routing technologies (L2/L3)Manage and optimize Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela) environmentsAnalyze network architecture and recommend improvements for performance, scalability, and securityPerform advanced (L3) troubleshooting for complex network and connectivity issuesWork hands-on with network devices (CLI configuration, upgrades, patching, debugging)Collaborate with cross-functional teams on network design, implementation, and incident resolutionMaintain documentation for network architecture, configurations, and proceduresRequired QualificationsStrong hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewallsDeep expertise in Cisco routing and switching (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP)Proven experience with Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela)Solid understanding of network architecture and design principlesAbility to operate at both strategic (architecture) and tactical (implementation) levelsExperience with network troubleshooting tools and methodologiesPreferred QualificationsRelevant certifications (e.g., PCNSE, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent)Experience in enterprise or large-scale network environmentsFamiliarity with network monitoring and automation toolsKey TraitsHands-on, “keyboard-level” technical expertiseStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentClear communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
