The team is an internal contract manufacturer producing high-quality components through CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, additive manufacturing, and assembly - serving teams across the client's organization, including their robotics and subscription departments.In this role you'll inspect machined, sheet metal, and 3D printed components using precision measuring equipment, support nonconforming product disposition, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. If you take pride in precision, have a strong GD&T foundation, and want to grow your metrology skills in a fast-paced environment — this role is for you.Key ResponsibilitiesInspection & Quality ControlConduct part inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauge pins, optical comparators, microscopes, and other precision measuring equipmentVerify parts against engineering drawings and ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) specificationsPerform in-process and final inspections; document results and maintain accurate quality recordsSupport first article inspections (FAI) for new partsNonconforming Product ManagementAssist with Material Review Board (MRB) activities and disposition of nonconforming productIdentify and escalate quality issues to the Quality Lead and Quality ManagerSupport root cause analysis and corrective action activities; track parts through resolutionRMA SupportAssist with Return Material Authorizations and Failure Analysis ReportsDocument quality issues and customer concerns; coordinate with Quality Lead on resolutionMetrology & Process ImprovementOperate and assist in programming inspection equipment (CMM, optical comparators, scanners, articulating arms)Maintain calibration of inspection equipmentSupport continuous improvement initiatives to reduce inspection time and improve efficiencyCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with manufacturing, engineering, and customer-facing teams on quality issues and inspection requirementsCommunicate inspection results clearly to production teamsRequirementsMust-Have:2+ years in a manufacturing environment in a quality role2+ years working with ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) and reading engineering drawings2+ years using precision inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, gauge pins)Familiarity with machined parts, sheet metal, powder coat, and weldingHigh school diploma or equivalentNice-to-Have:Experience inspecting 3D printed componentsUnderstanding of multiple manufacturing processes (CNC, 3D printing, welding, sheet metal, powder coating)Experience operating optical comparators or CMMs3+ years in manufacturing quality or contract manufacturing environmentsASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or similar certificationRelevant Leadership PrinciplesHave Backbone; Disagree and Commit — Speak up when you spot a quality issue, even under production pressure.
