Interim Executive Director

We are seeking an experienced Interim Executive Director to provide operational leadership and stability for a 200+ senior living community (Assisted Living and Independent Living) during a transitional period. This individual will oversee the day-to-day operations of the community while partnering closely with department leaders to ensure strong resident satisfaction, regulatory compliance, team performance, and financial oversight.This is a high-impact leadership opportunity ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, can quickly build trust with staff and residents, and has a proven background leading senior living communities through change, growth, or operational improvement initiatives.ResponsibilitiesProvide overall leadership and operational oversight for the senior living communityLead and support department heads across operations, nursing, dining, activities, maintenance, sales, and resident servicesEnsure compliance with all state, federal, and company regulations and policiesDrive resident satisfaction, quality of care, and positive community cultureManage staffing, employee engagement, accountability, and performance expectationsMonitor occupancy, budgeting, financial performance, and operational KPIsPartner with regional leadership to execute strategic initiatives and operational prioritiesSupport census growth and resident retention efforts alongside the sales and marketing teamAddress resident, family, and employee concerns with professionalism and urgencyMaintain readiness for surveys, audits, and inspectionsProvide leadership continuity during organizational transition or permanent leadership recruitmentQualificationsPrevious experience as an Executive Director, Administrator, or Regional leader within Senior Living, Assisted Living, Independent Living, Memory Care, or Skilled NursingStrong operational leadership and team management experienceProven ability to lead through transition, turnaround, growth, or organizational changeKnowledge of senior living regulations, compliance standards, and resident care operationsStrong financial acumen including budgeting, labor management, and occupancy performanceExcellent communication and relationship-building skillsAbility to quickly assess operational needs and implement effective solutionsBachelor’s degree preferredState licensure or certification as required by local regulations
