Engineering Lab Operations Lead

We are seeking a driven, self managed, and technically proficient individual to lead and manage the maintenance, equipment readiness, and facility engineering aspects of mechanical engineering labs. This will include ensuring the airflow, hydraulics, and other labs are organized, inventoried, and maintained to support program needs. This individual will interface with all mechanical engineering areas at our facility and collaborate with materials engineering and dyno personnel. Responsibilities also include managing activities in secure areas and ensuring compliance to DoD security standards, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, and performing capital asset planning and roll up for all labs.   Key Responsibilities Lead maintenance and support operation of multiple mechanical labs including Airflow, Hydraulics, Dyno, Thermal Validation, Suspension Lab, and secure areasAct as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for lab operationsEnsure overall lab readiness and compliance with EHS policies and DoD security requirementsAssist with development of test plans and requirements for prototyping, development testing, and failure analysisAssist with fixture design, fabrication, and installationManage procurement, tracking, and disposition of engineering materials and hardwareMaintain calibrated equipment functionality; perform maintenance and repairsWrite scopes of work, collaborate with supply chain management and coordinate with external vendors for service and capital upgradesWrite material requests for parts, consumables, and other lab related itemsDevelop and maintain lab activity schedules, inventory, and storage solutionsProject lab utilization and future planning for additional lab capability or consolidation as program needs evolvePrepare summary reports and communicate results to management and internal customersInterface with design and test engineers throughout development processesSupport knowledge management asset development and training as related to the labsLead capital asset planning and estimating activities while interfacing with management and senior leadership to present plans and secure annual funds for implementationAct as security custodian for secure areas and facilitate planning, execution, and coordination of work in these areas   Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline required. Focus in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, robotics, industrial or facilities engineering is a plus.Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems testing and troubleshooting experience5+ years of relevant career experienceActive or ability to obtain secret clearance Excellent written and verbal communication skillsCreo, NX and Teamcenter experienceStrong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workloadProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting toolsAbility to work effectively with internal customers, suppliers, and diverse engineering teamsFlexibility for work assignments and the aptitude to perform other engineering functions as workload allowsOn site presenceApproximately 10% travelExperience working in classified environments preferredPrior experience with military vehicle systems preferred
