The position is a friendly, knowledgeable point of contact for freight billing, tracking, and documentation—combining organization and attention to detail with excellent customer service. They support daily operations by accurately handling freight documentation and assisting customers by phone and email.This position is an individual contributor role and does not include supervisory responsibilities.What You’ll DoPreparing and processing freight billing with a high level of accuracy, including receiving and entering dataHandling all paperwork related to invoices, delivery receipts, manifests, bills of lading, damages, shortages, and refusals; including Hazardous Materials documentation at Alaska terminalsEnsuring all paperwork and documentation is complete, accurate and properly retainedAssisting customers professionally by phone and email with freight tracking and status updates, which may include:Researching and tracing shipmentsMarking or correcting billsAnswering general and shipment-specific questionsObtaining corrections or re-rates as neededProviding reports and status updates to customers or internal teams when appropriateSorting and distributing paperwork throughout the officePerforming general clerical support such as copying, faxing, scanning, filing, and answering inbound callsAssisting coworkers and other departments as requestedFollowing all safety procedures consistentlyTaking on additional duties as needed to support the teamYou Have These SkillsStrong ability to read, write, speak, and actively listen in EnglishSound judgment and decision-making skillsComfort using computers and multi-line phone systemsGeneral office and clerical skillsStrong prioritization, organization, and time-management abilitiesExcellent attention to detailSocial perceptiveness and a professional, customer-focused communication styleAnd These QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (or a combination of education and experience that provides the required skills)1–2 years of general office experienceAbility and willingness to obtain Hazardous Materials Certification within one year of hireExtra Credit If You HavePrevious experience in transportation, logistics, or freight operations, preferredPhysical & Work RequirementsAbility to sit at a desk and work at a computer for extended periodsAbility to independently move items weighing up to 20 poundsAbility to perform repetitive motionsAbility to use proper lifting techniques when requiredThe hourly range is posted for this position in Washington.
