BIM Engineer

Job Title: BIM EngineerLocation: Queens County, New YorkWork Model: OnsiteSummary:Seeking a highly motivated Electrical BIM Engineer to support the design, coordination, planning, and implementation of electrical construction projects across commercial and mission-critical environments. The candidate will possess strong Revit modeling capabilities, experience supporting electrical systems coordination, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout project lifecycles. This role requires technical problem-solving skills, BIM coordination experience, and knowledge of electrical construction standards and NEC compliance.Key Responsibilities:1. Electrical Design & BIM Modeling- Create, revise, and maintain detailed Revit models and construction drawings for: Lighting systems, Power distribution systems, Grounding systems, Fire alarm systems, Low-voltage infrastructure- Assist with preparation and updates of as-built documentation upon project completion.- Coordinate electrical BIM models with architectural, structural, and mechanical teams to identify and resolve clashes.- Produce: Electrical layouts, Panel schedules, One-line diagrams, Equipment arrangement drawings2. Engineering & Project Support- Participate in site visits to verify field conditions and support installation coordination.- Support project managers and senior engineers during: Design reviews, Shop drawing development, Technical submittals- Assist with: Material quantity takeoffs, Equipment specifications, Product documentation3. Team Coordination & Communication- Coordinate with BIM teams to ensure alignment with company standards and project requirements.- Collaborate with subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and project teams to resolve technical questions.- Attend coordination meetings and support tracking of: RFIs, Drawing revisions, Project updates, Meeting documentation4. Documentation & Quality Assurance- Maintain accurate project records, drawings, revisions, and correspondence logs.- Support QA/QC reviews of BIM models and electrical drawings.- Assist commissioning activities through testing documentation reviews and final project verification.Must-Have Skills:Strong Revit ProficiencyElectrical BIM Modeling3D Modeling & CoordinationShop Drawing ProductionElectrical Systems Design SupportClash Detection & CoordinationNEC Code KnowledgeConstruction DocumentationTechnical Problem-SolvingCross-Functional CollaborationRFI & Submittal CoordinationQA/QC SupportEducation:High School Diploma or Equivalent required.Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline preferred.Experience:1–5 years of experience in: Electrical Engineering, Construction, Design-BuildElectrical Contracting environmentsPrior experience working with or supporting electrical contractors preferred.Experience supporting commercial construction projects preferred.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with: AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revizto, BIM collaboration toolsExperience supporting field coordination and installation activities.Familiarity with construction workflows and project coordination.Understanding of: Lighting systems, Power distribution, Fire alarm systems, Low-voltage systems
