Daycare Director
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Daycare Director to oversee the daily operations of our early childhood education center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childhood development, classroom management, and childcare, with a passion for fostering a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children of all ages. This leadership role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to work effectively with staff and families, and a commitment to promoting positive learning experiences. The Daycare Director will ensure compliance with licensing standards, implement curriculum plans, and support staff in delivering high-quality care and education.
Duties
Manage daily operations of the daycare center, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation
Oversee classroom activities to ensure they meet developmental milestones and educational standards
Supervise and support teachers and caregiving staff, providing guidance on classroom management and behavior strategies
Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations and safety protocols, including first aid procedures
Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, staff, and community partners
Coordinate training sessions on childhood development, special education, behavior management, and caregiving best practices
Maintain accurate records related to attendance, developmental progress, incident reports, and licensing documentation
Promote a safe, inclusive environment that accommodates children with disabilities or special needs
Lead efforts in staff recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and professional development initiatives
Experience
Proven experience working with children across various age groups including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with disabilities
Prior classroom management experience in early childhood education or daycare settings
Degree in childhood education or working toward.
Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in childcare and preschool education
Experience with special education needs and working with children requiring additional support or accommodations
Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable
Background in teaching or caregiving roles such as nannying or babysitting is beneficial
Familiarity with behavior management techniques and classroom safety protocols
Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a daycare or early childhood education environment is preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 80 per week
