2nd Shift Manufacturing Manager
Technique, Inc. is looking for a Manufacturing Manager to join our team at our Jackson, Michigan facility. As a Manufacturing Manager, you will oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You will lead production teams, coordinate resources, and drive continuous improvement across all production processes while collaborating closely with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of manufacturing experience including leadership or supervisory roles, preferably in a fast-paced production environment. Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies, along with proficiency in ERP/MRP production planning systems, are critical factors in this role.Responsibilities:Lead and develop production teams – Lead, manage, and develop production supervisors and production staffPlan and coordinate production – Plan, schedule, and coordinate production activities to meet customer demandsEnsure efficient production lines – Ensure production lines operate efficiently while minimizing downtime and wastePromote a culture of safety – Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policiesConduct safety audits – Conduct regular safety audits, root-cause analyses, and corrective actionsEnsure proper work procedures – Ensure all employees follow proper work procedures and training requirementsPartner with Quality – Partner with the Quality department to ensure products meet specifications and standardsImplement quality corrective actions – Implement corrective actions to address quality deviationsMonitor quality metrics – Monitor scrap, rework, and first-pass yield metricsLead continuous improvement initiatives – Lead Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and process-improvement initiativesAnalyze production data – Analyze production data to identify opportunities to improve throughput and reduce costsDrive best practices and SOPs – Drive adoption of best practices and standard operating proceduresCoach and mentor team members – Coach and mentor team members and conduct performance evaluationsSupport hiring and training – Support hiring, onboarding, and training of production employeesFoster positive employee relations – Foster positive employee relations and maintain high team moraleMonitor KPIs – Monitor KPIs such as productivity, labor efficiency, downtime, and delivery performancePrepare performance reports – Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly performance reportsCollaborate with Supply Chain – Collaborate with Supply Chain to maintain adequate staffing, materials, and equipmentPartner with Maintenance – Partner with Maintenance to ensure proactive maintenance and minimize downtimeRecommend equipment upgrades – Recommend and assist with equipment upgrades or replacementsEnsure resource allocation – Ensure proper resource allocation across shiftsRequirements:5+ years of manufacturing experience, including leadership or supervisory rolesExperience in fast-paced production environments strongly preferredStrong leadership and team-building skillsKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologiesExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesProficiency with production planning systems (ERP/MRP)Strong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesManufacturing floor environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperaturesRequires standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 40 poundsMay require off-shift support and occasional weekend availabilityMust be eligible to work in the United StatesAbout Technique, Inc.:Technique, Inc. is a Michigan-based precision sheet metal and welded assemblies manufacturer serving aerospace, defense, automotive, motorsports, medical, and food processing industries.
