Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.One (1) year geriatric nursing experience preferredMust have CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.Specific RequirementsMust have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm as well as willingness to handle difficult patientsMust possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actionMust be knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in the post-acute care facilityMust have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the nursing departmentMust perform proficiently in all applicable competency areasMaintains professional working relationships with all care team members, vendors, etc.Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationMust understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance proceduresDisplays integrity and professionalism by adhering to MUSC Health's Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance trainingEssential FunctionsMust be able to lift, turn, move, position, and transport patientsMust be able to assist patients with baths, showers, personal grooming, feeding, and toiletingMust be able to accurately document and chart patient careMust be able to respond to call lights promptlyMust exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patientsMust be able to assist in the evacuation of patientsMust demonstrate dependable, regular attendanceMust be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgmentMust be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary teamMust be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hoursMust be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English languageMust be able to lift 35 lbs floor to waist, lift 35 lbs waist to shoulder, lift and carry 35 lbs, and push/pull 35 lbsAdditional Job DescriptionMust be a graduate of a State-approved CNA programMust be currently registered/licensed in South Carolina.
