Firearms Instructor
Precision Point Frederick (PPF) is seeking Firearms Instructor’s with a background in being a teacher in a work environment. You must be well versed in developing curriculums and other training materials, be able to relate to students on a personal level and have experience with firearms training.
Precision Point Frederick (PPF) Instructors will be responsible for providing quality training, ensuring that each student has a productive, challenging and meaningful experience in the classroom or on the firing range. The primary responsibility of each Instructor is the safety and well-being of all students during all training activities they lead.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide instruction for Firearms and Tactics courses utilizing prescribed curriculum
Update course curriculum as directed by management
Teach customized training courses
Conducts mobile training
Explain and demonstrate use of apparatus and equipment
Evaluate the abilities of individual participants to determine suitable corrective or remedial training
Maintain overall safety and organization of the training environment
Ensure safety of students
Ensure accountability for all training equipment
Complete all required continuing education and refresher training programs
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
U.S. Citizenship is required
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Must be at least 21 years of age with no legal disqualifiers to possess firearms
Must be experienced in instructional techniques and proficient in MS Office
Effective oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion
Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process
Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
Working Conditions:
Able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods required.
Ability to physically participate in multiple eight (8) hour days of basic and advanced firearm training as part of pre-opening training required.
