We support the Space Force’s acquisition of state-of-the-art satellite communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation’s warfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems.Why Join Us?Innovative Projects: KBR’s work is at the forefront of engineering, logistics, operations, science, program management, mission IT and cybersecurity solutions.Collaborative Environment: Be part of a dynamic team that thrives on collaboration and innovation, fostering a supportive and intellectually stimulating workplace.Impactful Work: Your contributions will be pivotal in designing and optimizing defense systems that ensure national security and shape the future of space defense.Work EnvironmentLocation: On-siteTravel Requirements: MinimalWorking Hours: StandardQualificationsRequired:Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business, or a related discipline10+ years of experience in product ownership, technical product management, or program/project management delivering software or AI-driven solutionsProven ability to define product vision, roadmap, and detailed use cases aligned to business and mission objectivesStrong expertise in Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), including leading sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, and sprint reviewsHands-on experience managing backlogs, epics, and user stories using Azure DevOps, Jira, and ConfluenceDemonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts (AI/ML, APIs, cloud systems) into clear, actionable product requirementsExperience managing cross-functional teams and coordinating dependencies across engineering, data, and business stakeholdersStrong stakeholder management skills, including requirements gathering, prioritization, and executive-level communication and reportingSolid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from ideation through deployment and sustainmentExperience tracking delivery progress, managing risks, and ensuring timely delivery of product milestonesFamiliarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and modern application architectures, including APIs and containerized environmentsProven ability to define success metrics, support testing/validation, and oversee release planning and quality assuranceDesiredMaster’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business, or a related disciplineExperience working on AI/ML or generative AI products, including exposure to LLMs, prompt engineering, or RAG-based solutionsFamiliarity with integrating AI solutions into enterprise systems, data platforms, and APIsExperience in defense, government, or other high-security/regulatory environmentsAgile certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), or SAFe Product Owner/Product ManagerStrong facilitation skills for backlog grooming, prioritization workshops, and stakeholder reviewsExposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native deployment environmentsBasic Compensation: $152,000 - $191,000 in CaliforniaThe offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.Ready to Make a Difference?
