TECHNICIAN ASSISTANT POSITION (Construction/Electrical - Entry Level)

Job Description Position SummaryThe scope of work for the position is to perform construction and/or survey related functions such as, but not limited to, the essential duties listed below.Essential Duties & Responsibilities - ON THE JOB TRAINING!Engages in general basic electrical work (low voltage, wiring and testing)Conduit running, wire pulling, installing electric panels and cabinetsEngages and performs data collection using data loggers, volt meters and other technical equipmentPerform pipe and soil reads, isolated steel reads, and rectifier readsEnter reads and writing work requests (“WR”) into databaseUse of hand shovels, dig around existing utility structuresUse of hand and power tools, power equipment and electronic metersOperation of small construction equipment (trenchers, excavators, cutting saws)Drive company vehicle responsibly and also perform regular maintenance, cleaning of vehicle and equipmentWork closely with utility representatives along with daily interaction with the publicAbility to work independently or with small crewsComplete accurate Timesheets and Dailies and submit on timeAdditional duties may be assignedSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position does not have supervisory responsibilitiesEducation and ExperienceValid driver's license, acceptable driving record per insurance requirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not requiredRequired to pass pre-employment DOT drug screening and may be required to pass a DOT physical, as well as being subject to random drug testing throughout employment.Must pass client required Operator’s Qualifications (“OQ”)If assigned to the Nuclear Services Department, clearance acceptance qualifications per client will be requiredKnowledge/ Skills /AbilitiesUtility experience, mapping and basic electricity knowledge preferredMust have ability to work and communicate with all levels of employees and clientsMust have working knowledge of using a computer and smartphoneMechanical and Electrical aptitude preferredExperience using hand tools preferredBasic Operator Qualifications preferredObtain and pass OSHA 30 training requiredObtain and pass MSHA preferredAbility to read, write, and communicate in English to ensure safe and efficient operationsResponsible and self-motivatedPhysical and Work Environment DemandsFrequent travel required (with overnight stay)Frequent overtime requiredWork outdoors in various climates including extreme heat and coldAbility to lift 50 lbs. or more, overhead, kneeling, crouching, standing, as well as carry for a minimum of 50 feetWalk for extended distances in varying conditions and terrainUse a variety of hand tools and electronic metersAbility to physically and visually follow worksite safety instructionsDriving a vehicle to and from work sites in all types of weather conditions and in heavy traffic and/or at nightBenefits: 401(k), 401(k) matching, Dental insurance, Disability insurance, Employee assistance program, Employee discount, Health insurance, Health savings account, Life insurance, Paid time off, Parental leave, Professional development assistance, Referral program, Retirement plan, Tuition reimbursement, Vision insuranceCompany DescriptionAccurate Corrosion Control, Inc. “ACCI” is a full-service Corrosion Control Mitigation Company specializing in providing corrosion control materials, construction and Cathodic Protection services working mainly in Arizona and surrounding states as a cathodic protection utility contractor.Additional CommentsThe essential functions have been provided as examples of the type of work performed by employees assigned to this job classification.
