Oracle Database Migration & Security Architect

UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking an Oracle Database Migration & Security Architect for an onsite role in Brooklyn, NY or within the 5 boroughs to lead enterprise Oracle database modernization, migration, and security initiatives. This role requires deep expertise in Oracle architectures, high availability solutions, cloud migration, and zero-trust security design within complex, mission-critical environments. WHAT WE OFFER Competitive compensation Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance Group Life Insurance 401(K) HSA/FSA options Pre-Tax Transportation Program Generous PTO and holiday package MANDATORY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE Minimum of 4 years of experience migrating large, complex Oracle databases and applications, including schemas, users/roles, privileges, DBMS_SCHEDULER jobs, GoldenGate replication, and linked configurations to Oracle AI Database 26ai (23ai-based) Minimum of 4 years of experience designing and implementing high availability solutions, including Oracle RAC, Data Guard, Active Data Guard, and multitenant PDB failover architectures Experience with cloud migrations to Oracle platforms such as Oracle Exadata and Autonomous Database Minimum of 4 years of experience managing project status, stakeholder communication, reporting, scope changes, and migration planning/execution for Oracle database initiatives Minimum of 4 years of experience providing post-migration (Hyper Care) support, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and stabilization Hands-on experience implementing micro-segmentation and zero-trust security models within Oracle environments using OCI Network Security Groups (NSGs) Proficiency in Oracle Multitenant architecture, including non-CDB to PDB conversions, unplug/plug operations, refreshable clones, and AutoUpgrade-based migrations Strong understanding of identity and access management (IAM), database security, and compliance requirements SCOPE OF SERVICES Lead migration of Oracle databases to Oracle AI Database 26ai, including schema, user, job, and replication configurations Design and implement high availability architectures using Oracle RAC, Data Guard, Active Data Guard, and multitenant failover strategies Architect and implement zero-trust micro-segmentation across Oracle environments to ensure strict workload isolation and secure communication Perform deep analysis of database sessions, connectivity, and IP mappings to prevent unauthorized cross-segment access Design and enforce access control policies, IAM configurations, and group-based security to restrict database access to authorized users and services Configure and manage OCI network security components, including NSGs, security lists, flow logs, and firewall rules Implement policy-driven traffic controls to manage inter-node communication, replication traffic, and application-to-database interactions Develop automation solutions to support scalable, repeatable deployments and consistent security configurations across environments Implement and monitor data replication strategies to ensure zero data loss, minimal latency, and high availability Support migration to cloud-based Oracle platforms, ensuring performance optimization and architectural alignment Provide post-migration Hyper Care support, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and stabilization Ensure compliance with security standards, reduce attack surface, and deliver a secure, resilient, and high-performing database environment UNIVERSAL Technologies is an equal opportunity employer.
