Project Engineer

Verdex Construction is looking for a Project Engineer to join our team to be part of our mission of “Building Something Better.” The Project Engineer will work with the Project team in planning and executing the construction of a project or multiple projects assigned to them. This person will work directly with the Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager while assisting the field team to deliver a quality project within the agreed schedule, maximizing the return to the company while earning repeat business from the client. Essential Functions: Scopes of work as assigned by Project Manager for award of Subcontracts specific to the particular project with a level of detail to solidify the full scope while being general enough to cover all aspects of the work. Preparation of submittal requirements and tracking log. Review and processing of submittals and shop drawings. Preparation of “Request for Information” log and tracking of same. Read and analyze the drawing to find any possible discrepancies; i.e. architectural drawings must match up with electrical drawings, etc. Drawing logs and distribution of revised drawings to Subcontractors. Follow up with Subcontractors for responses on cost/schedule for any revisions received. Assist the APM with documenting, tracking and scheduling inspections. QA/QC alongside the superintendents Documenting safety reports and following up to make sure corrective action was taken. Assist Project Manager with preparation of change orders to Owner. Foster relationships with subcontractors and suppliers Attend Owner and Subcontractor weekly meetings, keep minutes of meetings and follow up on tasks or issues assigned by Project Manager. Support Superintendent to get material to job as needed and to get manpower required. Coordinate close out procedures with field team and ownership. Assist in project forecast and subcontractor payment applications. Responsible for the agenda and minutes for the OAC and subcontractor meetings. Maintain master set of drawings on site with all revisions included from beginning to end Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational conferences; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies, etc. Satisfactory completion of appropriate corporate training as related to the position and/or department. Contributes to overall achievement by accomplishing related tasks and demonstrating characteristics that exemplify team building and support. Requirement & Qualifications: Strong communication skills, both internally and externally. Professional appearance Ability to work successfully as part of a team. Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet established deadlines. Excellent presentation skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Power Point, Word, and Outlook) and ability to learn other programs. Procore knowledge a plus. 0-2 years related construction experience Ability to stand for several hours at a time and to walk the entire site including all floors as required. Capacity to lift up to 40lbs.
