SCHEDULER JOB DESCRIPTION Summary The Scheduler uses their knowledge of the production process, customer requirements, and internal reports to create and maintain daily and weekly production schedules. This role requires strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly to production issues. The Scheduler works closely with production, purchasing, and other departments to ensure company objectives are achieved and all customer deadlines are met. Key Duties and Responsibilities: · Create and maintain daily and weekly production schedules based on customer requirements and plant capacity. · Plan production schedules for multi-spindle screw machines and CNC machines across two manufacturing facilities. (Ottoville OH & Wabash IN) · Communicate production priorities, part requirements, and tooling needs to supervisors and production teams. · Provide quick responses to production issues, schedule changes, and urgent customer demands. · Review all order requirements to ensure materials, tooling, and resources are available to meet deadlines. · Identify scheduling conflicts or production constraints and recommend improvements to processes and workflow. · Generate reports and schedules using company software systems and maintain accurate scheduling records. · Responsible for the physical ordering of raw material commodities, and to the appropriate degree, pricing coordination, rather than only creating purchase recommendations for others to process. · Plan raw material usage, requirements, and demand to support efficient production flow. · Interact directly or indirectly with customer buyers regarding delivery schedules, order availability, and production timelines. · Support new product introductions by coordinating timelines and scheduling requirements. · Coordinate with purchasing, maintenance, quality, and other departments as needed to support production objectives. · Assist other departments and perform additional duties as assigned by management. Quality Control Expectations · Ensure production schedules support on-time delivery while maintaining 100% compliance with quality requirements. · Verify that scheduling decisions align with customer specifications, tooling readiness, and inspection requirements. · Communicate clearly with production and quality teams regarding priority jobs, special requirements, or changes in customer expectations. · Support corrective actions and continuous improvement efforts by identifying scheduling-related inefficiencies or recurring production issues. · Maintain accurate documentation and reporting to support internal audits and quality system standards. · Promote adherence to company safety and quality policies throughout all scheduling and production planning activities Work Ethic and Expectations: · Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and/or three (3) years of related scheduling or manufacturing experience preferred. · Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment. · Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. · Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and production scheduling software. · Ability to comprehend production reports and make scheduling recommendations for improvement. · Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in English. · Dependable, professional, and able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. · Ability to follow work instructions as directed by the Plant Manager and management team. · Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems preferred. · Commitment to maintaining safety practices and supporting company standards. Job Requirements: · Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and/or three (3) years of related scheduling or manufacturing experience preferred. · Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment. · Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. · Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and production scheduling software. · Ability to comprehend production reports and make scheduling recommendations for improvement. · Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and communicate professionally with internal departments and external customers. · Reliable transportation and ability to travel occasionally between two nearby plant locations as required. · Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems preferred. · Commitment to maintaining safety practices and supporting company standards.
