Job Description40/29, the ABC affiliate in Rogers, Arkansas has an opening for a Part-time Broadcast Camera Operator. As Camera Operator, you will control the visual broadcast equipment during newscasts. You will work with the news production team and have a working knowledge of broadcast production operations to bring an organized and creative perspective to our television screens. You will report to the Engineering Director.ResponsibilitiesOperate television cameras for a live broadcast and live production settingWork with directors, producers and talent and must remain focusedWill also operate audio console, being responsible for all aspects of sound during newscasts and other projectsOperate and maintain studio lightsOperate Windows-based computer software to prepare video recordings for airPunctual attendance for shifts that can start as early as 3:30amWork weekends and holidays, to support our 24/7 broadcast operationsWork from a standing position for a 2-3 hour periodRequirementsExperience operating professional video cameras in live productionExperience using Windows-based computer softwareKnowledge of robotic camera operation and audioImmediate response to issues that unexpectedly arise on air is necessaryKnowledge of studio lightingClimb ladders up to 15 feet and the ability to lift 25 poundsCan work flexible hours and shifts including holidays and weekendsEngage with team to resolve unanticipated situationsRelated military experience will be consideredValues in ActionAt Hearst Television we tell stories every day.
