Paint Technician - Day and Night Shifts

Paint TechnicianBME Fire Trucks is seeking a skilled fire apparatus paint technician with experience to join our 2nd shift paint team. We are a locally owned Fire Truck manufacturer in Boise, Idaho. BME manufactures wildland fire apparatus used in the US and Canada for wildland fire suppression. As a Fire Apparatus Paint Technician, you will be responsible for:Mixing and applying body fillerSanding with both longboards and mud-hog sandersFinish sanding primer and caulking seemsGrindingAcid washingPrepping for paint processPerforming automotive quality paint applicationPerforming cut & buff work as necessary.RequirementsUnderstanding of bodywork principlesExperience with body fillerExperience with block sandExperience with air toolsExperience in automotive customization or collision repair workExperience with hand and power toolsGreat attitude and high expectations for the quality of your work.Knowledge of body shop materialsPhysically fit ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, kneel and climb ladders.Bonus points for:Associates Degree in Auto Body repair or related areaFour years or more years of experience with automotive paintingExperience with color sanding and buffingAutomotive customization or collision repair workTools and a roll around tool boxThis is a full-time permanent position located on site in Boise, Idaho.
