It is the intent to place a current employee in this position.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn addition to adhering to the general guidelines as specified by the Faculty/Staff Handbook, the, Director of Admission and Records, Dean of Students, the President, and Alabama Community College Board of Trustees, responsibilities will include the following:Administers all tests required of all new and returning students.Administers the Accuplacer test to all new students, ABT and CPAT test to all non-high school graduates, and other testing as required for LPN, RN, etc.Enters all test results in Banner. Mail result letters to all ABT and CPAT students.Assist in the registration and drop/add process.Assist in the secretarial services as needed in the Office of Student Services and other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students.Serve on assigned standing committees of the College and assist in other areas as needed.All student services job assignments are interchangeable and jobs depend on the need and demand of the current day situation.Work well with others and show respect to all college constituents.Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions and Records, Dean of Students, or the President.QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSMinimum of an Associate Degree or higher in Secretarial or Business required.Three years of full-time work experience in a secretarial or similar position required.Computer data entry and work processing skills required.Effective oral and written communication skills required.Considerable knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act as it relates to student records required.Effective oral and written communication skills are required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience with Banner software preferred.Ability to work with cooperatively with the College's diverse students and staff.Ability to deal effectively with the general public and provide accurate information.Ability to maintain confidentiality of all student records.Knowledge of college policies, regulations and procedures, and other requirements relative to student records.An understanding of and a commitment to the philosophy and mission of the two-year college.Application Procedures/Additional InformationWCCS is an equal opportunity employer and enrolled in E-Verify.
