Job Description Summary:Aviagen is the world's leading poultry breeding company, developing pedigree lines for the production of broiler chickens and turkeys, and has several wholly owned operations and joint ventures worldwide. We export from the US to 45 countries around the globe.We are seeking a qualified Export Manager to manage all export operations from designated facilities/regions with optimum efficiency to meet agreed-upon standards of welfare, cost, and quality, and ensure the company is compliant with all export and trade regulations. The Export Manager will lead all aspects of management, including hiring, training, employee development, and adherence to all international export laws and regulations. This position will report to the Global Director of Export, Logistics, & Trade Compliance and sits in the corporate office in Huntsville, Alabama. Managing the export team to ensure efficient order processing, documentation, and on-time delivery to customers.Job Description:Lead a team of expert professionals in all department functions, including booking commercial freight and passenger flights, private charters, freight forwarding, planning, and documentation.Develop and manage the export team to ensure that orders are accurately and efficiently processed and delivered to customers with all appropriate documentation, including invoicing, health and export documentation, letters or credit, etc.Accountable for customer communications as appropriate to address and resolve customer queries and ensure that all communications regarding order tracking are proactive and clearCollaborate with the International Logistics team on consolidated shipments and/or standardization of processes across the Aviagen footprint.Provide support, guidance, and problem-solving to team members when issues ariseArrange appropriate training and development for team members to help them maintain consistently high service standards. Set and monitor standards of performance for all team members, taking remedial action with the support of HR if necessaryCollaborate with the Aviagen Compliance team to ensure all required customer/bank compliance screening is performed within the published timelinesEnsure close working relationships with the Veterinary Department, USDA, and Aviagen Government relations team to maintain open communications and exchange information, enabling compliance with health certification requirements, vaccine services, and any other customer requests.Build relationships within commercial and operations leadership as well as cross-functional partners.To ensure compliance with all Company invoicing procedures to meet audit requirementsSupport the QA team in investigating any customer complaints and work with colleagues to prevent or resolve issues in the futureDevelop and maintain successful relationships with all third-party logistics providersInterpret trends, analyze and review data, and provide meaningful logistics data to others in the organization to aid customer service, improve welfare, and reduce freight costs.Manage a team of seven Job QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent international export experience required5+ years in international exports, with responsibility for managing teamsExperience working in a global or 24-hour operation a plusForeign language a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent time management skills with the ability to use your initiative and work under pressureMust be able to work well in a global team environment and handle the ever-changing priorities of worldwide exports and trade complianceAbility to travel domestically on a limited basis to accompany shipments, attend seminars, and interact with our freight forwarders,Ability to solve practical problemsEEO Statement
